Horses

Our horse journey began with 2 Quarter Horse geldings to ride as trail horses, dipped into Morgans for a great colt and wonderful filly, bred a Foundation QH mare that gives us super babies, and then tried an unbroken grey Arabian mare that has since become the babysitter and favorite mount at a kid's summer camp. And the love story with Arabian Horses began…

We added Shyecho, an elegant chestnut Arabian mare with old, old Egyptian lines. Then Taz, a striking Arabian mare double registered as a sport horse, defined the color with her blue black sheen. When you have several breeds to work with, the cream soon rises to the top, and the Arabians won us over with their personality, beauty, and intelligence.

Many thanks to my breeder friends who answered my questions and helped define my focus. Three years of researching and hunting resulted in a small band of broodmares and the almost fairy tale story of finding my herd sire, Extremely Shai.

Extremely Shai, Simeon Shai X DW Kamara, (by Theegyptianprince) was bred in California. He took:
1991 Regional Top Ten Breeders Sweepstakes Colt
1992 Reserve Champion Futurity Colt, Egyptian Event West
1992 Del Mar Reserve Champion Stallion
1992 Del Mar First Place Two Year Old Colt

Extremely Shai was then sold to a private breeder where he proved his ability to pass on the refined conformation which makes him great. LGR acquired him in the spring of 2005, bred him to a select group of mares, broke him to ride at age 15, and he is re-entering the show ring in halter, country English pleasure, and native costume. 2005 Morab Nationals in KY, he took a second in halter stallion, even at 15, and gathered a following everywhere he went!

Extremely Shai, a Black Straight Egyptian 1990 Arabian Stallion stands 15-1 tall,. very refined and extremely typy. Small muzzle, beautiful head, tiny, tiny ears, very upright, with a long. long neck with silky mane to match. Short back, level croup, all set on long, very correct legs. Even nicer is his pleasant, easy going disposition with a keen mind, which he passes on to his get. Breeding Entry Sweepstakes.

2006 Stud fee - $2,000, $1,500, $1,000    LiveCover & Cooled Semen LFG
